Crazy Hart Ranch produces poultry products for local consumers.
Our fresh poultry production is seasonal with the natural flow of nature. Since we are located in south Florida our seasons are different than temperate regions. (For those of you not familiar with Florida's climate, we have two seasons: Summer and That Time of Year that is not as Hot as Summer.)
We have Heritage turkeys for Thanksgiving and we have broilers (meat chickens) starting in January through May. It is simply too hot and humid in the summer months to raise broilers.
Our turkeys on pasture are supplemented with feed free from antibiotics and animal byproducts. (By pasture we mean living off the land, as nature intended.) Our broilers are raised in pasture pens for security from predators and pens are moved daily to assure a supply of fresh grass, which is green year round since we rarely have frost here. They also are supplemented with feed free from antibiotics and animal byproducts. This method also ensures that the broilers are not forced to live in their own waste any longer than is natural (chickens naturally scratch their waste into the ground.)
IN THE LATEST NEWS:
We are working on establishing our own breeding flock of turkeys. Presently we have Bourbon Red and Blue Slate stock and hope to have our own breeding stock in a few years. (We’ll be happy to keep you posted on these developments, just send us an email inquiry and we email you back updates!)
